SAVOR A CAREFULLY CRAFTED SENSORY EXPERIENCE
NATURAL AGAVE HARVESTED BY HAND IN VENEZUELA
MADE FROM 100% PURE, HAND-HARVESTED AGAVE
An essential part of Venezuelan culture

Cocuy is a spirit born in Venezuela, made from the remarkable and resilient agave cocui trelease, a plant native to our land and one of the most iconic treasures of our natural heritage.

Thumbnail
Its recipe remained a family secret for years.
Within the DUG GROUP family, we find records of Cocuy making that even predate other, better-known spirits such as rum or brandy. For years, its recipe and craft remained guarded, enjoyed only within the family at celebrations and festive gatherings, just as in the rest of the country.
An idea that turned into a dream
One day, we had an idea that would become a dream, and now a reality: to invite the world to discover and fall in love with Cocuy, proudly sharing this piece of our culture and tradition through an exclusive, high-quality product that redefines the world of premium agave.
Opportunities for a brighter future
Throughout this process, we have also embraced a commitment to reclaim the forgotten lands of this arid region of Venezuela, restoring life and purpose to them. From our Santa Rosalía estate, we work alongside local communities to revitalize the region through agave cultivation and shared effort, planting not only crops, but also opportunities for a better future.
And so, Cocuy Saroche came to life
This is how Cocuy Saroche, Venezuela's first single estate agave, was born, produced using a process that combines the artisanal expertise of past cocuyeras with rigorous quality control that surpasses the highest standards.
Discover
our process
A journey through the meticulous craft of Cocuy Saroche, where modern skills intertwine with ancestral knowledge to create a premium cocuy that honors its roots and traditions.
It all begins on our land
1
The cocui trelease agave grows under the sun at Hacienda Santa Rosalía, our estate in Lara, Venezuela, where it is cultivated with flair and care.
Patience is key
2
For 8 to 10 years, the plants mature slowly, absorbing the essence of the arid soil and the warm winds of our region.
Harvesting. An act of respect
3
When the agave reaches maturity, it is harvested by hand, honoring each plant with the respect it deserves.
Cooking processes
4
In steam ovens, the agave hearts are slowly cooked at 96ºC for 36–48 hours, then cooled for another 12 hours.
Agave’s flowing soul
5
During milling, the cooked agave is crushed and pressed to release its juice.
Responsible production
6
The leftover fiber is reused as livestock feed, efficiently integrating it into a sustainable recycling model.
The awakening
7
The juice undergoes natural fermentation in open tanks, using yeasts that transform the essence of the agave into the soul of cocuy.
Distillation: the art of elevating craftsmanship
8
In exclusive copper stills, the fermented liquid is distilled twice, refining each drop to perfection: a 100% pure cocui trelease agave spirit.
The result: Pure ancestral agave
9
After a period of rest, we bottle this story of tradition, dedication, and love for our land into Cocuy Saroche, ready to be shared with the world.
